Analyzer
In this
section you will choose the source you want to create the new meta
tag from. This section assumes that you're going to insert a meta tag
into an HTML page that's already created, ie. it exists either online
or on your local hard drive. NOTE: if you want to create a brand
new meta tag from scratch, go directly to General Tags.
The
Analyzer will perform several functions:
1. Will
pull your HTML page in from a website: Type in the domain and hit Analyze
2. Will
pull your HTML page in from your hard drive: Hit Select and
locate the html page, once you've found the page, hit Analyze to proceed
3.
Local Site Word Count Analysis: Enter 1 page or multiple pages to
analyze at the same time
Once
you have Analyzed the page(s), proceed to General Tags, where you
will see your site's info listed.
General Tags
If you've
utilized the previous Step, Analyzer, to modify your current meta
tags, you will now see the information listed in the appropriate
boxes. If you do NOT see the information listed, but you do have meta
tags this means your current meta tags are IMPROPERLY FORMATTED. Meta
Tag Maximizer will format your meta tags to the EXACT specifications
of the search engines! You can now proceed to add, modify, or remove
any tags from all 3 sections. Once you're finished hit the Save
button to save the Tag.
If you're
creating a brand new tag from scratch you will want to fill out all
pieces of information on the BASIC section. If you move
your mouse over each box, it will tell you what needs to be entered.
We highly suggest using the ADVANCED tags, but these are not
required. Distribution is a 'major' tag and SHOULD be used.
Once you have completed the Basic and Advanced tags, you can now
proceed to ROBOTS.
Robots are
very important meta tags. These will tell the search engines that you
want your website:
ALL
(recommended): all pages on your domain will be indexed
None:
Only the page being submitted will be indexed
NoIndex:
Your page will not be indexed (used to eliminate specific engines)
The rest
of the options should only be used if you're the admin of a site and
know exactly what each one is used form. We highly recommend using
ALL for every meta tag and website.
Comments:
This option will use < -- Comments -- > which are viewed by
search engines as TEXT in your site. Many engines use keyword
densities, and using your keywords and titles as comments can improve
your indexing power. NOTE: do not 'spam' these. In other words, do
not repeat keywords multiple times, this will work against your site.
Once you
have filled out all the sections, hit the SAVE button to save your
work. If you want to load this meta tag into multiple documents, hit
the "Save As Default" button. You can now open any page you
wish, hit the "Load Default" tag and it will bring up this
tag to be inserted into the page.
Keywords
The
program goes through the page and makes a list of all the words it
finds and the number of instances of them. This data is very
important when selecting keywords and phrases as search engine
spiders rate the
keywords
by the instances in the body text of the document and also weight
them by how close they are to the beginning of the body text etc.
You can
choose to add, delete, or modify any of the keywords you choose. Once
you've done this, in the right hand box you can hit the 'Binoculars'
to do a Keyword Weighting, which will show you to what percentage
each keyword is weighted in your page. In other words, are your
keywords prominent throughout your webpage or do they not even show
up. Hit the SAVE button to save your keyword list.
Generated Meta Tags
You are
now ready to create your meta tag. Simply hit the Generate Button to
do so. Save the meta tag to file for future use and go directly to
the HTML button
HTML
You can
now see the HTML page you're currently working with. You now have
several options:
1. View
the current page in your default browser
2. Paste
the new meta tag into the page
3. Process
multiple files with the current meta tag (insert tags into multiple files)
4. Open a
new HTML page to insert into ( insert tag into 1 file ) You can also
open an HTML page by downloading it into the program from a remote
source by typing in the URL.
5. Save
the new meta tag into the file you're working with ( insert and save
tag )
Report
This is a
very powerful feature! Once you have created your new meta tag,
inserted that meta tag into your HTML page, you can now do a report
on this page and get great info on how to better your meta tag and
get better indexing. This report can be viewed directly in the
program, it can be emailed to you, or you can print it out for
reference. Do NOT skip this step!
